It’s pretty obvious that the good things will not end here, the safety features also become the priority for the BMW to satisfy the consumer when driving the new BMW i8. Inside, the interior will give you a sophisticated technology that’s making the new BMW more classy. So don’t be surprised if the price of the new 2017 BMW i8 might break your bank.
Moving on to the dashboard, here, the car will serve you with many controls that’s fully digital. It has high functionality, which in addition to attractive, it also provides more ease to the driver while driving. The new BMW i8, bringing you a solid design with aerodynamic structure across its body. Even more, apart from the look, under the bonnet, it also equipped with a big engine capacity. Frankly, my favorite part of this car is the front side, the design is just perfect, look at the headlamp! Beautiful.
The manufacture clearly does not only focus on the look, but also the functionality. The headlamp gives you a great lightning when you are driving in the night, rain or in the foggy environment. Meanwhile, the front side is very typical of a BMW car, just look at the grille and the emblem, anybody would quickly notice it’s a BMW. Also, you need to know that there’s a hybrid plug-in located on the left side of the front door.
The doors are scissor doors, and it looks perfect for the modern design of the new BMW i8. On the rear side, the stop lamp giving it a more luxurious impression. The design follows the curve of headlamp plus LED, In addition to gives a luxurious impression into its rear end, it also effectively warns the other drivers when braking.

The wheelbase is 110,2 inch long, and the dimension of its body is 184.6 inches long, 76.5 inch wide, and the overall height is 51.0 inches. The weight isn’t quite satisfying, since it’s a sport car we would normally expect for something lighter. The overall weight without passengers is 3455kg, meanwhile BMW claim that the car is made of lightweight materials, the question is; what makes it a little bit heavy? Meanwhile, the thing that I hate the most of this car is that it has tight ground clearance, means you have to be very careful when driving the car.
It seems like they want to give it a more luxurious impression by adding a super elegant rim. Its 20 inch for the regular size with super thin tires in big sizes, P215 / 45YR20 on the front and on the rear it’s supported by P245 / 40YR20 tires.
The suspension has successfully adopted multilink and arms control, this technology allows you to have a direct setting on how soft or hard do you want from the suspension, one touch is all you need to adjust it to your need. Now let’s continue inside, although it’s a two door car the cabin feels so spacious, even though the car itself is a 4 seater.
The dashboard is fully digital, almost everything is digital. It looks very futuristic, you’d probably felt like driving a car from the future, indeed it is. The connectivity feature is satisfying, to connect your devices you don’t need cable, no more, and the car has Harman Kardon Surround Sound Audio System, turn on the music please.
Now, let’s talk about the engine. The electric engine is located in the front, while the gasoline engine is in the back. This will definitely put a smile to your face, the main engine has 3 cylinders along with a turbocharged technology. How powerful is it? It can produce 357 HP and a torsion of 420 lb-ft with eDrive technology. Its automatic transmission gives you great handling, meanwhile the car can reach its maximum speed in only 4,2 seconds. Quite powerful, yes? Last but not least, you can switch the driving mode between eDrive, ECO Mode Pro, Sport and Comfort.
